Worries eliminated after a single session – the SKY fast & fixed therapy

Feeling otherwise fit and healthy but not having the ability to bite firmly is the concern of many patients between the ages of 40 and 70 who are experiencing tooth loss. Their one wish; to continue with life, being able to eat and laugh freely, is overwhelming. The SKY fast & fixed therapy by bredent medical offers immediate fixed implant-supported restorations for patients requiring this treatment and has proven to be a reliable solution through practical implementation over the last few years. The therapy has been used in the treatment of more than 20,000 patients and, thanks to SKY fast & fixed, their appetite for life has been restored.

The key word, "Faster", is intrinsic to SKY fast & fixed therapy's success. Rapid treatment offers major advantages for patients, practice teams and laboratory teams alike. A quick treatment process is ensured by standardised surgical and prosthetic procedures for restorations, using a reduced number of implants. By using angled implants, the best possible use of available bone is allowed for; the implants can be splinted together and an adequate stabilisation is made possible. As a result, a fixed bridge can be inserted in one single surgical procedure, allowing for an immediate treatment. Patients no longer need to worry about tooth loss whilst waiting for their final treatment. This means that opting for an implant restoration will be an easy decision for a large number of patients.

The temporary bridge restoration can be fabricated in advance of surgery after 3D implant planning and CAD design. The bridge can then be integrated immediately after implant insertion with only a few adjustments. Fabrication of the bridge is also possible after surgery, using an impression and bredent's standardised veneering system, visio.lign. The final restoration can then be integrated seamlessly using occlusal and transversal screw retention. In addition, a combination of both of these screw retention techniques can be used, allowing treatment to be tailored to each individual patient. All material combinations including all-ceramics, metal ceramics, metal with visio.lign and BioHPP with visio.lign are suitable for use in the final restoration.

As SKY fast & fixed therapy is based on a standardised procedure, it ensures reproducible surgical and prosthetic techniques. The entire practice and laboratory team can deliver any new treatment simply, quickly and effectively, greatly reducing patient treatment time at the dental practice. Thanks to the reduced number of treatment stages, excellent soft tissue conditions are achieved, contributing to all-round patient and user satisfaction.

The SKY fast & fixed therapy, which was developed in collaboration with experienced implantologists, prosthodontists and dental technicians, is one of the main topics covered in this year's bredent group days SKY Meeting 2014. Dr. Georg Bayer and dental technician, Stephan Adler will be introducing the concept, which will be then discussed in detail in "Excellence course in Reconstruction: SKY fast & fixed – safe & successful dental office“.

SKY fast & fixed has proven to offer patients affordable treatment whilst also offering a highly profitable therapeutic concept for practices and laboratories. Its fast, aesthetic and reliable end results have convinced users- and will continue to convince others in the future.
